Privacy policy
This describes what Whisk Sweetly actually does today, not what a site of this kind might do. Last updated 6 September 2026.
The short version
There are no accounts, no comments and no sign-up form, so there is nothing to log in to and no list to be added to. Page views are counted, by the two measurement tools described below. Beyond that, the only way we learn anything about you is if you choose to send an email.
Cookies
Two cookies are set, both by this site and both necessary for it to work safely:
- whisk-sweetly-session — identifies your browser to the server for the length of a visit.
- XSRF-TOKEN — proves a request came from a page on this site, which is what stops another site acting on your behalf.
Both expire after two hours and neither is used to recognize you on a later visit or on another site.
No third party sets a cookie here. The tag manager described below is currently empty, and an empty container sets none. If that changes, the cookies it brings are listed here.
Measurement
Two things are involved in counting visits:
- A traffic counter we host ourselves, at
bytelane.top. It records that a page was viewed. It is our own server rather than a measurement company's, and nothing it records is sold, shared or combined with anything else. It sets no cookie and stores nothing in your browser; it reports the page you opened, the page you arrived from, and your screen size. - Google Tag Manager, loaded from
googletagmanager.com. It is a container for other tags, and it is currently empty — it holds no analytics, advertising or remarketing tag, and so runs none. What it does do, by being on the page at all, is make your browser request a file from Google; that request tells Google your IP address, your browser's user-agent string, and which page asked for it.
There is no Google Analytics here, no advertising or conversion tag, and no remarketing. Adding any of them means editing that container, and this section is rewritten before that goes live.
Your theme choice
If you switch between the light and dark theme, that preference is stored in your browser's local storage so the page does not flash the wrong colors on your next visit. It never reaches the server, and clearing your browser data removes it.
Server logs
Like every web server, ours records each request: the IP address it came from, the time, the address requested, and the browser's user-agent string. These logs exist to keep the site up and to investigate abuse. They are not linked to anything else, not used to build a profile of you, and not shared.
If you email us
Writing to hello@whisksweetly.com means we have your address and whatever you put in the message. It is used to reply to you and nothing else — not added to a mailing list, because there is no mailing list.
Third parties
The two measurement tools above are the only things a page here loads from another address, and one of those two is our own server. Everything else — fonts, images, scripts, styles — is served from this domain, so opening a recipe does not quietly tell a font service or an image host that you did. There are no advertising networks, no embedded videos and no affiliate links.
The photographs come from free stock libraries and are hosted here rather than linked from theirs; the credits are in the footer of every page.
Children
This site is not directed at children and collects nothing that would identify one.
Asking what we hold
Given the above the honest answer is almost always "nothing", but if you want to ask — or want an email exchange deleted — write to hello@whisksweetly.com and it will be handled.
If this changes
Adding advertising, a newsletter, or a new tag inside the tag manager would each change what is collected. When one of them arrives, this page is updated before it goes live and the date at the top changes with it.
