About
Whisk Sweetly publishes recipes written down properly: quantities by weight, timings that account for what a domestic oven actually does, and an explanation of the one step in each method that decides whether it works.
The recipes are built on established technique rather than invented from nothing. Where a dish has a traditional method, that method is followed and the reasoning behind it is explained — why the butter goes in cold, why the pan has to be hot before the meat touches it, why the parmesan comes off the heat. Where there is a common way to get it wrong, the recipe says so.
What these recipes are not, yet, is photographed in our own kitchen or signed off after a run of test bakes. The images are stock photography while that is being built. If something here does not work as written, that is worth knowing about — tell us which step and what happened, and the recipe gets corrected rather than quietly left alone.
