Description

Vampire Fudge is a rich and festive two-layer fudge featuring a dark chocolate base topped with vibrant red fudge, perfect for Halloween celebrations or anytime you crave a colorful and indulgent treat. The creamy white chocolate combined with cocoa and sweetened condensed milk creates a smooth texture with a touch of vanilla and dramatic red and black coloring for a spooky effect.

Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Layer

  • 1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 can (7 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon black food coloring (optional for extra darkness)

Red Fudge Layer

  • 1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 can (7 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Red food coloring (to desired color)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, ensuring there is enough overhang on the sides for easy removal later.
  2. Make the Chocolate Layer: In a medium saucepan, combine 1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips, 1/2 can sweetened condensed milk, cocoa powder, and butter. Heat the mixture over low heat, stirring continuously until fully melted and smooth. Stir in black food coloring if you want a darker chocolate layer. Pour the mixture evenly into the prepared pan and chill in the refrigerator for 10 minutes to set slightly.
  3. Make the Red Fudge Layer: In another saucepan, melt the remaining white chocolate chips and 1/2 can sweetened condensed milk over low heat while stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and mix in vanilla extract and red food coloring until the fudge reaches your desired vibrant red shade.
  4. Assemble the Fudge: Pour the red fudge layer on top of the slightly chilled chocolate base. For a decorative marbled effect, use a toothpick or skewer to gently swirl the layers together.
  5. Chill and Serve: Refrigerate the assembled fudge for at least 2 hours to allow it to fully set. Once firm, use the parchment paper overhang to lift the fudge out of the pan and cut it into 16 squares. Serve chilled and enjoy your festive Vampire Fudge!

Notes

  • Use parchment paper to easily lift the fudge from the pan without sticking.
  • You can adjust the amount of red and black food coloring to create your preferred intensity of colors.
  • Store the fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • For a smoother texture, melt the chocolate gently over low heat and avoid overheating.
  • This fudge is best served chilled but can be brought to room temperature for a softer bite.
