Description

This Three Cheese Chicken Alfredo Bake is a creamy, comforting pasta dish featuring penne pasta tossed in Alfredo sauce, sour cream, ricotta, garlic, and Italian herbs, then baked with shredded mozzarella until bubbly and golden. Perfect for a hearty family dinner, it combines three cheeses and tender cooked chicken for a rich and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Pasta

  • 1 box (16 ounces) Penne pasta

Sauces and Cheese

  • 2 jars (15 ounces each) Alfredo sauce
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 container (15 ounces) Ricotta cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded Mozzarella cheese

Other Ingredients

  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 cups cooked, chopped chicken
  • 2 teaspoons dried Parsley
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta: Boil penne pasta in a large pot of salted water until al dente following package directions. Drain the pasta thoroughly and return it to the pot.
  2. Mix ingredients: To the pot with pasta, add Alfredo sauce, sour cream, ricotta cheese, minced garlic, cooked chopped chicken, grated Parmesan, dried parsley, and Italian seasoning. Stir well to combine all ingredients thoroughly.
  3. Assemble in baking dish: Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Pour the pasta mixture into the dish and spread evenly.
  4. Add mozzarella topping: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top of the pasta mixture.
  5. Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the dish uncovered for 30 minutes or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden.
  6. Serve: Remove from oven and serve warm for a delicious, cheesy chicken Alfredo bake experience.

Notes

  • You can use homemade Alfredo sauce instead of store-bought jars for a fresher flavor.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven or microwave.
  • For added veggies, consider mixing in spinach or mushrooms before baking.
  • Use fresh herbs instead of dried if preferred for a more vibrant taste.
  • This dish freezes well; prepare and freeze before baking, then bake directly from frozen, adding extra baking time as needed.
