Ingredients
Scale
Base Layer
- 2 boxes Vanilla Wafers (approximately 72 wafers total)
- 6 to 8 bananas, sliced
Pudding Mixture
- 2 cups milk
- 1 (5 oz.) box French Vanilla pudding mix
- 1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese, softened
- 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 (12 oz.) container frozen whipped topping, thawed (or equal amount of sweetened whipped cream)
Instructions
- Prepare Base: Line the bottom of a 13×9-inch dish with one box of vanilla wafers. Arrange the sliced bananas evenly over the wafers to create the base layer.
- Make Pudding: In a medium bowl, combine milk and French vanilla pudding mix. Use a handheld electric mixer to blend well until the mixture thickens, about 2 minutes.
- Mix Cream Cheese Base: In another bowl, blend the softened cream cheese and sweetened condensed milk together until smooth and creamy.
- Fold in Whipped Topping: Gently fold the thawed whipped topping or sweetened whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until fully combined and light.
- Combine Mixtures: Add the cream cheese mixture to the pudding mixture and stir until thoroughly blended.
- Assemble Layers: Pour the combined pudding and cream cheese mixture over the wafers and bananas in the dish, spreading evenly to cover.
- Top with Wafers: Sprinkle the remaining vanilla wafers on top to add a crunchy finishing layer.
- Chill and Serve: Refrigerate the assembled pudding for at least 4 hours to allow it to set and the flavors to meld together before serving.
Notes
- Use ripe but firm bananas for best texture and flavor.
- For a stronger banana flavor, layer extra bananas between the pudding layers.
- Make sure the cream cheese is softened to avoid lumps in the mixture.
- Allow adequate chilling time for best consistency; overnight refrigeration is ideal.
- Substitute vanilla wafers with other cookies for variety if desired.
