Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 2 pounds pork ribs, cut into individual ribs
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Garnish
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top to allow even heat circulation around the ribs.
- Prepare Sauce: In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if you like a bit of heat.
- Coat Ribs: Arrange the ribs on the wire rack. Generously brush half of the prepared sauce over the ribs to coat them thoroughly.
- Bake Low and Slow: Loosely cover the ribs with aluminum foil and bake for 2 hours, turning the ribs halfway through to ensure even cooking. This slow baking will make the ribs tender and infused with flavor.
- Caramelize the Sauce: Remove the foil and brush the ribs with the remaining sauce. Increase the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C) and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the sauce is sticky and caramelized to perfection.
- Garnish and Serve: Once baked, garnish the ribs with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving. These ribs pair wonderfully with steamed rice or stir-fried vegetables.
Notes
- For extra tenderness and deeper flavor, marinate the ribs in the sauce for 2-4 hours before baking.
- Serve these ribs with steamed rice or stir-fried vegetables for a complete, balanced meal.
- If you prefer spicier ribs, increase the red pepper flakes according to your taste.
