Description

These Sticky Asian Baked Pork Ribs feature tender, flavorful ribs coated in a sweet and savory glaze made with soy sauce, hoisin, honey, and aromatic seasonings. Slow-baked to perfection and finished with caramelized sticky sauce, they make a delightful main course perfect for an Asian-inspired meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pounds pork ribs, cut into individual ribs
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Garnish

  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top to allow even heat circulation around the ribs.
  2. Prepare Sauce: In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if you like a bit of heat.
  3. Coat Ribs: Arrange the ribs on the wire rack. Generously brush half of the prepared sauce over the ribs to coat them thoroughly.
  4. Bake Low and Slow: Loosely cover the ribs with aluminum foil and bake for 2 hours, turning the ribs halfway through to ensure even cooking. This slow baking will make the ribs tender and infused with flavor.
  5. Caramelize the Sauce: Remove the foil and brush the ribs with the remaining sauce. Increase the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C) and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the sauce is sticky and caramelized to perfection.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Once baked, garnish the ribs with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving. These ribs pair wonderfully with steamed rice or stir-fried vegetables.

Notes

  • For extra tenderness and deeper flavor, marinate the ribs in the sauce for 2-4 hours before baking.
  • Serve these ribs with steamed rice or stir-fried vegetables for a complete, balanced meal.
  • If you prefer spicier ribs, increase the red pepper flakes according to your taste.
