Shrimp and Marinade
- 1 pound large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 tablespoons Calabrian chili paste
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Prepare the Shrimp: Pat the shrimp dry thoroughly with paper towels to ensure they sear properly and cook evenly.
- Heat the Skillet: In a large skillet over medium heat, warm the olive oil until shimmering, then add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant but not browned.
- Add Chili Paste: Stir in the Calabrian chili paste and cook for another 30 seconds to release its flavors into the oil.
- Cook the Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the skillet and season with salt and black pepper. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes on each side, until the shrimp turn pink and opaque, indicating they are perfectly done.
- Finish with Lemon and Parsley: Remove the skillet from heat, drizzle the shrimp with fresh lemon juice, sprinkle with lemon zest, and toss gently to coat. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
