Description

A refreshing and naturally sweet Pineapple Strawberry Agua Fresca, perfect for a quick and healthy hydration boost. Made with fresh fruits, agave syrup, and lime juice, this light beverage is easy to prepare and ideal for warm days or whenever you need a tasty, fruity drink.

Ingredients

Scale

Fruits

  • 2 cups fresh pineapple chunks (about 1 ripe pineapple)
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled
  • Juice of 1 lime (freshly squeezed)

Liquids & Sweetener

  • 4 cups filtered water
  • 2 tablespoons agave syrup or honey (adjust to taste)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the fruits: Peel and chop the pineapple into chunks, and hull the strawberries to remove the green stems, ensuring the fruits are clean and ready to blend.
  2. Blend the base: Combine the pineapple chunks, hulled strawberries, and freshly squeezed lime juice in a blender. Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and uniform.
  3. Strain for smoothness (optional): If you prefer a pulp-free beverage, pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher or bowl, using a spoon to help press out the juice.
  4. Add sweetener: Stir in 2 tablespoons of agave syrup or honey according to your preferred sweetness level, and blend briefly again if needed to combine thoroughly.
  5. Adjust with water and chill: Pour cold filtered water into the mixture until your desired consistency is reached. Stir well and refrigerate the Agua Fresca for at least 30 minutes before serving chilled for the best refreshing experience.

Notes

  • You can adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of agave syrup or honey.
  • For a pulp-free drink, straining is recommended but optional based on your texture preference.
  • Serve with ice cubes for extra refreshment.
  • Variations can include adding fresh mint or a pinch of salt to enhance flavor.
  • This recipe is naturally gluten-free and vegetarian.
