Ingredients
Scale
Pizza Bombs
- 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 30–40 slices of pepperoni
- ½ cup pizza sauce (plus more for dipping)
Seasoned Butter Topping
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
Garnish
- Chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat and prepare baking sheet: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
- Shape biscuit dough rounds: Separate the refrigerated biscuit dough into individual pieces. Flatten each piece into approximately a 3-inch round using your hands or a rolling pin, creating a flat surface to hold the fillings.
- Add fillings: Spoon about 1 teaspoon of pizza sauce onto the center of each dough round. Layer 2 to 3 pepperoni slices on top of the sauce, then sprinkle a pinch of shredded mozzarella cheese over the pepperoni to add gooey richness.
- Form pizza bombs: Carefully fold the dough over the filling, bringing edges together and pinching tightly to seal the dough completely, shaping it into a ball. Place each ball seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet to prevent opening during baking.
- Prepare garlic butter coating: In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with garlic powder and Italian seasoning until combined. This mixture will give the pizza bombs a flavorful and aromatic crust.
- Brush and top: Generously brush the tops of each dough ball with the seasoned butter mixture. Then sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the tops for a savory, slightly crispy finish.
- Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 15–18 minutes, or until the pizza bombs turn golden brown and cooked through.
- Cool and garnish: Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly. Optionally, sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley for a burst of color and freshness.
- Serve: Serve warm with extra pizza sauce on the side for dipping to enhance the flavors of these irresistible bites.
Notes
- You can substitute the biscuit dough with crescent roll dough or homemade dough if preferred.
- Feel free to add cooked sausage, vegetables, or other pizza toppings inside for a customized flavor.
