Ingredients
Scale
Peach Base
- 3 cups ripe peaches, peeled, pitted, and chopped
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Yogurt Mixture
- 2 cups plain Greek yogurt (full fat or low fat)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Blend Peaches: Place the chopped peaches, sugar, and lemon juice in a blender or food processor and blend until mostly smooth with a few small peach pieces remaining to retain texture.
- Combine with Yogurt: Transfer the peach puree to a mixing bowl and add the Greek yogurt, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Stir thoroughly until the mixture is fully blended and creamy.
- Chill Mixture: Refrigerate the mixture for about 1 hour to improve texture and flavor melding before freezing.
- Churn Frozen Yogurt: Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a thick, frozen consistency.
- Freeze to Firm Up: Transfer the churned frozen yogurt to a freezer-safe container and freeze for an additional 1 to 2 hours to firm up before serving.
Notes
- If you do not have an ice cream maker, pour the mixture into a shallow dish and freeze, stirring every 30 minutes for 2 to 3 hours until smooth and frozen.
- For extra flavor, add finely chopped fresh peaches before the final freeze.
- Honey can be used as a substitute for part of the sugar for a more natural sweetness.
