Description

This Peach Frozen Yogurt recipe offers a refreshing and creamy homemade dessert that blends ripe peaches with Greek yogurt, delivering a naturally sweet and tangy flavor perfect for a summer treat. It’s easy to prepare, requiring minimal ingredients and no baking, ideal for those who enjoy light and fruity frozen desserts.

Ingredients

Scale

Peach Base

  • 3 cups ripe peaches, peeled, pitted, and chopped
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Yogurt Mixture

  • 2 cups plain Greek yogurt (full fat or low fat)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Blend Peaches: Place the chopped peaches, sugar, and lemon juice in a blender or food processor and blend until mostly smooth with a few small peach pieces remaining to retain texture.
  2. Combine with Yogurt: Transfer the peach puree to a mixing bowl and add the Greek yogurt, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Stir thoroughly until the mixture is fully blended and creamy.
  3. Chill Mixture: Refrigerate the mixture for about 1 hour to improve texture and flavor melding before freezing.
  4. Churn Frozen Yogurt: Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a thick, frozen consistency.
  5. Freeze to Firm Up: Transfer the churned frozen yogurt to a freezer-safe container and freeze for an additional 1 to 2 hours to firm up before serving.

Notes

  • If you do not have an ice cream maker, pour the mixture into a shallow dish and freeze, stirring every 30 minutes for 2 to 3 hours until smooth and frozen.
  • For extra flavor, add finely chopped fresh peaches before the final freeze.
  • Honey can be used as a substitute for part of the sugar for a more natural sweetness.
