These Onion Ring Cheese Burger Sliders combine juicy seasoned ground beef, melted American and cheddar cheeses, crispy onion rings, and a tangy homemade burger sauce all sandwiched between sweet King’s Hawaiian rolls. Perfect for game day, parties, or a fun family meal, these sliders are baked to golden perfection with a buttery, sesame seed-topped crust.

Ingredients

Scale

Slider Ingredients

  • 1 (12-count) package King’s Hawaiian Original Sweet Rolls
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • American cheese slices
  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Frozen onion rings (quantity as needed, cooked according to package directions)

Burger Sauce

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • â…› cup mustard
  • 1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish

Topping

  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • Sesame seeds (for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Cook Onion Rings: Cook the frozen onion rings according to the package directions until crispy and golden. Set aside.
  2. Brown Beef: In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef together with the chopped onion. Season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Drain excess grease, then stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  3. Prepare Burger Sauce: In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and sweet pickle relish. Mix well until smooth and set aside.
  4. Assemble Sliders: Slice the King’s Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally. Place the bottom halves in a greased baking dish or on a sheet pan. Layer each bottom roll with a slice of American cheese, a portion of cooked beef mixture, a spoonful of burger sauce, shredded cheddar cheese, and top with one crispy onion ring. Cover with the top halves of the rolls.
  5. Brush and Bake: Brush the tops of the sliders with melted butter and sprinkle generously with sesame seeds. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (177°C) for 10 to 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the tops are golden brown.

Notes

  • You can use frozen onion rings of your choice, just be sure to cook them crispy before assembling.
  • For extra flavor, mix some Worcestershire sauce into the ground beef while browning.
  • These sliders can be assembled ahead of time and baked right before serving.
  • Use any cheese you prefer; pepper jack or mozzarella also work great.
  • Brush the tops with butter to achieve a shiny, flavorful crust.
