These festive Irish Jello Shots are a colorful and fun treat perfect for St. Patrick’s Day or any celebratory occasion. Layered with lime, creamy condensed milk, and orange gelatin mixtures, these 2-ounce shots deliver a delightful combination of fruity and creamy flavors. Topped with whipped cream and sprinkles, they’re as visually appealing as they are delicious.

Ingredients

Scale

Green Layer

  • 1 (3 oz) box lime gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • ½ cup cold water
  • ½ cup apple juice or white grape juice

White Layer

  • 2 packets unflavored gelatin
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk

Orange Layer

  • 1 (3 oz) box orange gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • ½ cup cold water
  • ½ cup apple juice or white grape juice

Toppings

  • Whipped cream or Cool Whip
  • Green and orange sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Dissolve Lime Gelatin: Dissolve the lime gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water, stirring until fully dissolved.
  2. Add Liquids: Add ½ cup cold water and ½ cup apple juice or white grape juice to the lime gelatin mixture. Mix well.
  3. Pour into Shot Glasses: Pour the lime mixture into 2-ounce shot glasses, filling each about one-third full.
  4. Refrigerate Green Layer: Refrigerate for 20-30 minutes, or until set.
  5. Prepare White Gelatin Mixture: In a small saucepan, sprinkle 2 packets of unflavored gelatin over 1 cup cold water. Let sit for 1-2 minutes to bloom.
  6. Dissolve Gelatin and Add Milk: Heat over low heat, stirring until gelatin dissolves completely. Remove from heat and stir in the sweetened condensed milk. Let cool to room temperature.
  7. Pour White Layer: Once the green layer is set, carefully pour the white gelatin mixture over it, filling each glass another one-third full.
  8. Refrigerate White Layer: Refrigerate for 20-30 minutes until set.
  9. Dissolve Orange Gelatin: Dissolve the orange gelatin in 1 cup boiling water, stirring until fully dissolved.
  10. Add Liquids: Add ½ cup cold water and ½ cup apple juice or white grape juice. Mix well and cool to room temperature.
  11. Pour Orange Layer: Ensure the orange mixture is cooled, then pour it over the white layer, filling glasses to the top.
  12. Refrigerate Final Layer: Refrigerate for an additional 20-30 minutes or until fully set.
  13. Add Toppings: Before serving, top each jello shot with whipped cream or Cool Whip and decorate with green and orange sprinkles if desired.
  14. Serve: Serve chilled and enjoy your festive Irish Jello Shots!

Notes

  • Use 2-ounce shot glasses for perfect portion sizing.
  • Make sure each gelatin layer is fully set before adding the next to maintain distinct layers.
  • Sweetened condensed milk adds a creamy texture and sweetness to the middle layer.
  • Apple juice or white grape juice is preferred for a lighter color and taste.
  • Prepare these a few hours ahead to allow all layers to fully set.
  • Can be made alcohol-free by skipping alcohol addition, or add vodka/whiskey to the juice for an adult version.
