Ingredients
Scale
Shrimp and Seasoning
- 1 pound large shrimp (peeled and deveined, tails removed)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon hot honey (plus more for drizzling)
- 1 tablespoon blackened seasoning
Salad
- 1 large head romaine lettuce (chopped)
- 1/2 cup homemade or store-bought Caesar dressing
- 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup croutons
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Lemon wedges for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the shrimp: In a medium bowl, toss the shrimp with olive oil, hot honey, and blackened seasoning until they are well coated with the mixture.
- Cook the shrimp: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, arrange the shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2–3 minutes on each side until the shrimp turn opaque and develop a light char. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Toss the salad: In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped romaine lettuce with Caesar dressing, tossing gently to coat evenly.
- Add cheese and croutons: Sprinkle in the grated Parmesan cheese and croutons, then toss the salad again for even distribution.
- Assemble and serve: Divide the salad into serving bowls or plates, top each with the warm blackened shrimp, and drizzle with additional hot honey if desired. Serve with lemon wedges on the side for an optional fresh citrus squeeze.
Notes
- Adjust spice level by varying the amount of hot honey according to your preference.
- For extra crunch, add toasted pepitas or chopped bacon to the salad.
- Grilled shrimp can be used instead of skillet-cooked shrimp for a smokier flavor profile.
