Ingredients
Scale
Meat and Fillings
- 1 lb lean ground beef (80/20)
- ½ cup finely chopped onions (red or yellow)
- 1 cup chopped iceberg lettuce
- ½ cup sliced dill pickles
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Wraps
- 4 large flour tortillas
Special Sauce
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tbsp relish
- 1 tsp mustard
Instructions
- Brown the Ground Beef: In a non-stick skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef for about 6-8 minutes, breaking it up as it cooks. Once cooked, drain the excess fat carefully.
- Sauté Onions: Add the finely chopped onions to the skillet with the beef and cook together until the onions turn translucent, approximately 3 minutes. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste.
- Prepare Special Sauce: In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, and mustard thoroughly to create the classic Big Mac-style special sauce.
- Assemble Wraps: Lay each flour tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spread a generous layer of the special sauce evenly onto each tortilla. Then add the cooked beef and onion mixture, followed by shredded cheddar cheese, chopped iceberg lettuce, and sliced dill pickles.
- Roll the Wraps: Fold the sides of each tortilla over the filling, then roll the tortilla tightly from one end to the other to enclose the filling securely. Use toothpicks if needed to secure the wraps in place.
- Optional Grilling: For a warm and crisp finish, grill each wrap in the same skillet over medium heat for about 2 minutes per side or until the tortilla is golden brown. Serve the wraps warm, accompanied by extra special sauce if desired.
Notes
- Use lean ground beef to keep the wraps flavorful but not overly greasy.
- The optional grilling step adds a nice crunch and warmth, but the wraps are delicious served fresh as well.
- Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper according to personal preference.
- For a lower-fat version, consider using reduced-fat cheese and light mayonnaise.
- To secure wraps effectively, toothpicks help prevent unrolling especially if filling is generous.
