Ingredients
Scale
Slider Ingredients
- 12 Hawaiian rolls (whole, not sliced into individual rolls)
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 12 slices American cheese (or cheddar)
Butter Glaze
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 2 tbsp ketchup
Optional Garnish
- Pickles, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and place the whole Hawaiian rolls in a 9×13-inch baking dish without separating them.
- Cook Ground Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
- Season Beef: Add salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce to the beef. Stir well and cook for another 1-2 minutes to meld the flavors, then remove from heat.
- Prepare Rolls: Horizontally slice the Hawaiian rolls in half, keeping them intact like a sandwich. Place the bottom half of the rolls in the prepared baking dish.
- Assemble Sliders: Evenly spread the seasoned cooked beef over the bottom half of the rolls, then layer the slices of American cheese on top, overlapping to cover entirely.
- Add Top Rolls: Place the top half of the rolls over the cheese, pressing gently to compact the sliders.
- Brush Glaze: In a small bowl, mix melted butter, Dijon mustard, and ketchup. Brush this mixture evenly over the tops of the rolls to add flavor and shine.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until the sliders are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Serve: Remove from oven, optionally garnish with pickles, slice into individual sliders, and serve hot.
Notes
- Use 80/20 ground beef for optimal juiciness and flavor.
- American cheese melts smoothly, but cheddar can be used for sharper taste.
- Do not separate rolls before assembling to maintain structure and ease of handling.
- The butter glaze adds a rich flavor and glossy finish—do not skip it.
- Serve immediately for best texture; leftovers can be reheated covered to retain moisture.
