- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Cauliflower: Cut the cauliflower into florets. Rinse, drain, and pat dry to remove excess moisture for better cooking results.
- Cook the Garlic: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat, then add the minced garlic and stir constantly for 1 minute to release its aroma without burning.
- Add the Cauliflower: Add cauliflower florets to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are slightly softened and acquire a golden brown color.
- Add the Mushrooms: Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and continue cooking for another 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms are softened and golden brown.
- Season the Dish: Season the mixture with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Stir well to distribute the spices evenly.
- Finish and Serve: Remove the skillet from heat and transfer the cooked vegetables to a serving dish.
- Garnish: Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the top for a fresh herbal finish.
- Optional Cheese: Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on the vegetables if desired for added richness.
- Enjoy: Serve hot as a delicious, nutritious side dish or a light main course.
Notes
- Use fresh cauliflower and mushrooms for the best texture and flavor.
- Adjust the red pepper flakes according to your spice preference or omit for a milder taste.
- For a vegan version, skip the Parmesan cheese or substitute with a plant-based cheese alternative.
- To keep cauliflower florets intact and tender, avoid overcrowding the skillet.
- This dish can be served alongside grilled or roasted meats, or as part of a vegetarian meal.
