Scale
Quesadilla Ingredients
- 2 flour tortillas
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1 avocado, sliced
- 1 tbsp butter (for frying the tortillas)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the Skillet: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a small amount of butter to prevent sticking and add flavor.
- Cook the Eggs: Crack one egg into the skillet, season with salt and pepper. Cook until the egg white is fully set but the yolk remains runny. Remove and set aside. Repeat the same process for the second egg.
- Assemble the Quesadilla Base: In the same skillet, place one flour tortilla and evenly sprinkle half of the shredded cheese on top.
- Add the Toppings: Place the fried eggs on top of the cheese-covered tortilla, followed by slices of avocado for creaminess.
- Top and Seal: Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheese over the avocado slices and cover with the second tortilla.
- Cook Until Golden: Cook the quesadilla for 2 to 3 minutes on each side, flipping carefully so the tortilla becomes golden brown and crispy, and the cheese melts thoroughly.
- Serve: Remove the quesadilla from the skillet, cut it into wedges, and serve hot for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- Use a non-stick skillet to prevent sticking and ensure even cooking.
- Adjust the cheesetype to your preference; cheddar and mozzarella both melt well.
- For a firmer yolk, cook the eggs longer to your desired doneness.
- If preferred, add salsa or hot sauce for added flavor when serving.
- Use ripe avocado for the best creamy texture and flavor.
