Description

Enjoy the rich, savory flavors of Birria Quesadillas Tacos, a delicious Mexican-inspired dish featuring tender birria beef melted with Mexican blend cheese inside crispy corn tortillas, served with fresh onions, cilantro, and lime wedges for a perfect bite every time.

Ingredients

Scale

Birria Quesadillas

  • 2 cups cooked birria beef
  • 1 cup shredded Mexican blend cheese
  • 8 corn tortillas

Toppings

  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • Lime wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat the skillet. Preheat a skillet over medium heat to prepare for cooking the quesadillas.
  2. Prepare the tortilla. Place one corn tortilla onto the heated skillet, warming it slightly on one side.
  3. Add fillings. On one half of the tortilla, layer a generous amount of cooked birria beef followed by shredded Mexican blend cheese.
  4. Fold the tortilla. Fold the tortilla over the fillings to create a half-moon shape, enclosing the ingredients.
  5. Cook the quesadilla. Allow it to cook until the cheese begins to melt, then carefully flip to cook the other side until it turns golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove and keep warm. Take the cooked quesadilla off the skillet and keep it warm while you prepare the remaining ones.
  7. Repeat. Repeat the process with the remaining tortillas, birria beef, and cheese until all quesadillas are cooked.
  8. Serve. Serve the quesadillas hot, garnished with chopped onions, cilantro, and lime wedges for squeezing on top.

Notes

  • Use fresh corn tortillas for authentic flavor and better texture.
  • Cook birria beef beforehand; this recipe uses pre-cooked birria for convenience.
  • Adjust cheese quantity according to your preference for cheesiness.
  • Serve immediately for best taste and texture as quesadillas become soggy if left too long.
  • Add a side of consommé for dipping if available to enhance the traditional birria experience.
