Description

These crispy fried chicken tenders are perfectly seasoned and fried to golden perfection, making them a delicious and satisfying meal that brings family together. With a simple breading process and frying technique, you’ll enjoy tender, juicy chicken with a crispy crust every time.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 1-2 pounds Chicken Tenders

Breading

  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper

Coating

  • 1 Egg (beaten with 2 tablespoons water)

Frying

  • Enough Vegetable Oil to fill skillet about 2 inches deep

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil: Pour enough vegetable oil into a 9-inch skillet to reach about 2 inches deep. Heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches approximately 365-375°F, ideal for frying.
  2. Prepare seasoned flour: In a large mixing bowl, stir together the all-purpose flour, salt, and black pepper thoroughly to create an even seasoning base for the breading.
  3. Beat the egg wash: In a separate bowl, beat one egg and mix it with 2 tablespoons of water. This mixture will help the flour adhere to the chicken tenders.
  4. Dredge the chicken tenders: Coat each chicken tender first in the seasoned flour, then dip it into the egg wash, and dredge again in the seasoned flour to ensure a crispy coating.
  5. Rest the breaded tenders: Allow the coated chicken tenders to rest for about 5 minutes. This helps the breading set and stick better during frying.
  6. Check the oil temperature: Test the oil by dropping a pinched bit of flour into it. It should sizzle immediately, indicating the oil is hot enough.
  7. Fry the chicken tenders: Carefully add batches of breaded chicken tenders to the hot oil. Fry each side for about 8-10 minutes, or until the tenders are deep golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Drain excess oil: Transfer cooked chicken tenders onto a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil and keep the tenders crispy.

Notes

  • Adjust salt and pepper to taste for spiciness and seasoning preferences.
  • Do not overcrowd the skillet; fry in batches to maintain oil temperature and crispiness.
  • Letting the breading rest before frying helps it adhere better, reducing falling off during cooking.
  • Use a thermometer to maintain consistent oil temperature for best frying results.
  • Serve hot for maximum crunch and juiciness.
