Description

These Crispy Fried Cheesecake Bites are a delightful dessert featuring creamy cheesecake filling wrapped in crispy egg roll wrappers, fried to golden perfection, and served with a dusting of powdered sugar and optional graham cracker crumbs. Perfect as a sweet snack or party treat, they combine rich, smooth cheesecake with a crunchy exterior.

Ingredients

Scale

Cheesecake Filling

  • 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Wrapper and Sealing

  • 12 egg roll wrappers
  • 1 egg (beaten, for sealing)

Frying

  • Vegetable oil for frying

Toppings & Serving

  • 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs (optional, for dusting)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting
  • Chocolate or caramel sauce for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cheesecake Filling: In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract and mix until fully combined, creating a creamy filling.
  2. Assemble the Bites: Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface with one corner facing you. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the cheesecake mixture onto the center. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the sides and roll up tightly. Seal the edge with beaten egg to secure the filling inside. Repeat this process for all wrappers and filling.
  3. Heat Oil for Frying: Pour vegetable oil into a deep pan and heat it to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for frying.
  4. Fry the Cheesecake Bites: In batches, carefully place the assembled cheesecake bites into the hot oil. Fry for 2 to 3 minutes, turning once until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides.
  5. Drain and Garnish: Remove the fried bites using a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. While still warm, dust the bites with powdered sugar and graham cracker crumbs if using.
  6. Serve: Serve the crispy fried cheesecake bites warm alongside chocolate or caramel sauce for dipping, enjoying a rich and crunchy dessert treat.

Notes

  • You can freeze the wrapped bites before frying to achieve an even crispier texture upon frying.
  • For flavor variations, try adding lemon zest to the filling or mixing in crushed Oreos.
