Description

A rich and flavorful Creamy Garlic Chicken recipe featuring tender chicken breasts cooked in a luscious garlic-infused cream sauce, perfect for a comforting weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Cooking Fat

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Sauce

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat fats: Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat to prepare for cooking the chicken.
  2. Season chicken: Season the chicken breasts evenly with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder to enhance flavor.
  3. Cook chicken: Add the chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Remove chicken: Take the cooked chicken out of the skillet and set aside to rest temporarily.
  5. Sauté garlic: Add the minced garlic to the same skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant but not burnt.
  6. Add liquids: Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring to combine with the garlic and pan juices.
  7. Simmer sauce: Let the sauce simmer gently for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens to a creamy consistency.
  8. Return chicken: Put the cooked chicken breasts back into the skillet and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, spooning the creamy garlic sauce over the chicken to coat well.
  9. Garnish and serve: Sprinkle fresh parsley over the top and serve immediately while warm.

Notes

  • You can use half-and-half instead of heavy cream for a lighter sauce, but the sauce will be less creamy.
  • Ensure the chicken breasts are of even thickness for consistent cooking.
  • Serve with steamed vegetables or over mashed potatoes for a hearty meal.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated gently on the stovetop.
