Ingredients
Scale
Crescent Dough
- 1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough
Crab Filling
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup cooked crab meat (or imitation crab), chopped
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Topping (Optional)
- 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
- Prepare the crab mixture: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, chopped crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, parsley (if using), and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir this mixture well until all ingredients are evenly blended.
- Roll out the crescent dough: Unroll the crescent dough onto a flat surface and separate it into individual triangles along the perforated lines to prepare for filling.
- Fill the crescent dough: Spoon a generous amount of the crab mixture onto the wider end of each crescent triangle. Carefully roll up the dough around the filling, starting from the wider end, and place each crescent roll seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Optional cheese topping: If desired, sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top of each crescent bite to add flavor and help create a lovely golden crust once baked.
- Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescent dough is golden brown, puffed, and fully cooked through.
- Serve: Remove the crab crescent bites from the oven and allow them to cool slightly. Serve warm as a tasty appetizer or party snack, perfect for sharing.
Notes
- Use either real cooked crab meat or imitation crab based on availability and preference.
- Fresh parsley is optional but adds a nice fresh flavor and color.
- Sprinkling mozzarella cheese on top is optional but enhances flavor and appearance.
- Ensure cream cheese is softened to mix smoothly with other ingredients.
- These bites can be served with a dipping sauce like cocktail sauce, tartar sauce, or a spicy aioli for extra flavor.
