Ingredients
Scale
Crescent Dough
- 1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough
Crab Filling
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup cooked crab meat (or imitation crab), chopped
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Topping
- 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to prevent sticking.
- Prepare the crab mixture: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, chopped crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, chopped parsley if using, and season with salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly until smooth and well blended.
- Roll out the crescent dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean flat surface. Separate it into individual triangles along the perforated lines, preparing each for filling.
- Fill the crescent dough: Spoon a generous amount of the crab mixture onto the wider end of each crescent triangle. Carefully roll up the dough around the filling, starting from the wider end, forming tightly sealed crescent rolls. Place each rolled bite onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Optional cheese topping: If desired, sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top of each crescent bite to add extra flavor and create a golden, melted cheese finish after baking.
- Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescent dough is puffed up and golden brown.
- Serve: Remove the crab crescent bites from the oven and allow them to cool slightly before serving. Best enjoyed warm as a savory appetizer or snack.
Notes
- For best results, use fresh or high-quality cooked crab meat to enhance flavor.
- The mozzarella topping is optional but adds a nice cheesy crust when baked.
- These bites can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator before baking; just increase the baking time slightly if baking from cold.
- If you prefer a spicier kick, add a dash of hot sauce or cayenne pepper to the crab mixture.
- Serve with a lemon wedge or aioli dipping sauce for added zest.
