Description

These Chopped Cheeseburger Sliders are a delicious twist on classic cheeseburgers, featuring seasoned ground beef mixed with onions, topped with melted cheddar cheese, and loaded with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles. Perfect for parties or family gatherings, these sliders are baked to golden perfection and served with a tangy mayo-ketchup-mustard spread on soft slider buns.

Ingredients

Scale

Beef Mixture

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Slider Assembly

  • 12 slider buns
  • 6 slices of cheddar cheese, halved
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup pickles, sliced

Condiments & Toppings

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons mustard
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the sliders later.
  2. Cook Beef Mixture: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and finely chopped onion until the beef is browned and the onion is translucent. Drain off any excess fat. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, then cook for another 2 minutes to incorporate the flavors.
  3. Assemble Sliders: Place the bottom halves of the slider buns in a baking dish. Spread the cooked beef mixture evenly over the buns. Layer the halved cheddar cheese slices on top of the beef, then cover with the top halves of the buns.
  4. Prepare for Baking: Brush the tops of the slider buns with melted butter and, if using, sprinkle with sesame seeds. Cover the baking dish with foil to keep moisture in and bake for 15 minutes.
  5. Finish Baking: Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the buns are golden brown on top.
  6. Add Condiments and Veggies: Remove the sliders from the oven. Carefully lift the top buns and spread mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard evenly. Add shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and sliced pickles. Replace the top buns.
  7. Serve: Serve the sliders immediately while warm and enjoy a tasty, crowd-pleasing meal.

Notes

  • Feel free to add or substitute vegetables such as pickled jalapeños or onions for extra flavor.
  • Use buttered and toasted slider buns for added crunch if desired.
  • Adjust seasonings in the beef mixture to suit your taste.
  • Sliders can be assembled ahead of time and baked just before serving to save time.
  • Optional: Add a dash of hot sauce to the condiment mixture for a spicy kick.
