Ingredients
Scale
Dough
- 3 (8-oz) tubes refrigerated crescent roll dough sheets
Garlic Butter Spread
- ½ cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
- 1 Tbsp garlic and herb seasoning
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
Cheese Filling
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350ºF (175ºC). Spray a muffin pan with cooking spray and set it aside to prepare for the rolls.
- Prepare Garlic Butter Mixture: In a small bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, minced garlic, and garlic & herb seasoning. Mix well until fully blended. Set this flavorful butter spread aside.
- Roll out the Dough: Unroll the refrigerated crescent roll dough sheets. Using a rolling pin, roll each sheet into a 12×16-inch rectangle to create an even surface for spreading.
- Apply the Garlic Butter and Cheese: Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over each dough sheet. Then, sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated parmesan cheeses generously over the buttered dough sheets.
- Roll and Slice the Dough: Starting from the long edge of the rectangle, tightly roll up the dough into a long log. Cut each log in half to create two 8-inch logs. Slice each short log lengthwise into four sections, resulting in 12 equal strips of dough.
- Form the Cruffins: Take one dough strip with the cheese layers facing outward and tightly roll it into a round shape. Place each roll into the prepared muffin pan. Repeat this process for the remaining dough strips, filling all 12 muffin cups.
- Bake: Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 22 to 25 minutes until they are puffed up and golden brown on top.
- Cool and Serve: Remove the muffin pan from the oven and transfer the cheesy garlic cruffins onto a wire rack to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Ensure the butter is at room temperature for easy mixing and spreading.
- Use sharp knives for clean slicing of the dough logs to maintain shape.
- For extra flavor, sprinkle a little extra garlic herb seasoning on top before baking.
- These cruffins are best enjoyed warm but can be reheated for a few minutes in a toaster oven.
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
