Description

This easy and delicious cheese bread recipe combines cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheeses into a moist, flavorful loaf. Perfect for serving alongside soups, salads, or enjoying as a tasty snack, this quick bread requires just a few simple ingredients and minimal prep time.

Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder (optional)

Wet Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg

Cheeses

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for topping)

Herbs & Extras

  • 1 tsp dried parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease or line a loaf pan with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder until evenly combined.
  3. Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk the melted unsalted butter, milk, and large egg until the mixture is smooth and homogenous.
  4. Add the Cheese: Stir the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses into the wet ingredients, ensuring even distribution.
  5. Combine Everything: Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and gently mix until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the bread tender.
  6. Bake the Bread: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. If desired, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese and dried parsley on top. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown on top and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool & Serve: Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve.

Notes

  • Optionally add garlic powder and dried parsley for extra flavor.
  • For a crispier crust, omit the parchment paper and lightly grease the pan instead.
  • Ensure not to overmix the batter to keep the bread light and tender.
  • Use freshly grated cheeses for the best melty texture and flavor.
  • Storage: Keep leftover bread wrapped at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
  • Reheat slices in a toaster oven or microwave for a warm, fresh taste.
