Filling
- 2 cups of cooked chicken, shredded
- 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
- 8 oz of cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup of green onions, chopped
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Dough and Topping
- 1 tube of crescent roll dough (8 rolls)
- 2 tbsp melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s ready for baking the crescent rolls.
- Prepare Filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cheddar cheese, softened cream cheese, chopped green onions, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Prepare Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 individual triangles along the perforations.
- Add Filling: Place a spoonful of the prepared chicken mixture onto the wide end of each crescent dough triangle.
- Roll Rolls: Starting from the wide end, carefully roll each triangle toward the narrow point to fully enclose the filling inside.
- Arrange on Baking Sheet: Place the rolled crescent rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them evenly.
- Brush with Butter: Brush the tops of each roll with melted butter to promote a golden, glossy finish during baking.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and the cheese inside is melted.
- Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and allow the crescent rolls to cool for a few minutes before serving to let the filling set slightly.
Notes
- To ensure even baking, do not overcrowd the baking sheet; leave adequate space between rolls.
- You can customize the filling by adding cooked vegetables or different types of cheese.
- For a spicier version, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or chopped jalapeños to the filling.
- Make sure the cream cheese is softened to allow easy mixing with other ingredients.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat in the oven to maintain crispiness.
