Description

This Caramel Coffee Fudge is a rich and decadent treat combining the smooth sweetness of white chocolate and caramel with the bold flavor of coffee. Perfectly swirled and lightly salted, this dessert offers a delightful balance of sweetness and a hint of bitterness, making it a luxurious indulgence for coffee and fudge lovers alike.

Ingredients

Scale

Fudge Base

  • 2 ½ cups white chocolate chips
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee granules
  • 1/4 cup hot water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Caramel Swirl

  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Optional

  • A pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides to make it easy to lift out the fudge later.
  2. Dissolve the Coffee: In a small bowl, dissolve the instant coffee granules in hot water, stirring thoroughly until fully combined. Set this coffee mixture aside.
  3. Make the Fudge Base: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the white chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk. Stir continuously until the white chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth. Remove from heat and stir in the dissolved coffee mixture and vanilla extract until everything is well incorporated.
  4. Create the Caramel Swirl: Pour half of the coffee fudge mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish. Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over this layer. Then pour the remaining fudge mixture on top and spread it out smoothly. Drizzle the remaining caramel sauce on top and use a knife or toothpick to swirl the caramel through the fudge, creating a beautiful marbled effect.
  5. Add a Touch of Salt (Optional): Lightly sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top of the fudge to enhance the flavors with a sweet and salty contrast.
  6. Set the Fudge: Place the baking dish in the refrigerator and chill for at least 2-3 hours or until the fudge is completely firm and set.
  7. Serve: Once set, use the parchment paper overhang to lift the fudge out of the pan. Cut into squares or small bite-sized pieces and serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Be sure to stir constantly while melting the white chocolate to prevent burning or seizing.
  • The caramel sauce can be store-bought for convenience or homemade for a richer flavor.
  • Adjust the strength of the coffee flavor by varying the amount of instant coffee granules to your taste.
  • For easier cutting, let the fudge rest at room temperature for a few minutes before slicing.
  • The sea salt topping is optional but recommended for a delicious contrast.
