Description

These Caramel Chocolate Crunch Bars are an easy and delicious no-bake dessert that combines a buttery baked crust with rich caramel and melty chocolate. Perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth with layers of texture and flavor, these bars feature a crumbly baked base, gooey caramel, and crunchy nuts, all topped with smooth melted chocolate.

Ingredients

Scale

Base

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (melted)

Topping

  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 cup chocolate chunks
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • ½ cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • ¼ tsp sea salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make removal easier.
  2. Make the Crust: In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, brown sugar, and melted unsalted butter. Stir until the mixture is crumbly and evenly combined. Press this mixture firmly into the prepared pan to form a compact crust layer.
  3. Bake the Crust: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake the crust for 10 to 12 minutes until it turns lightly golden. This ensures a sturdy base and enhances flavor.
  4. Add Caramel Layer: Once the crust is warm and out of the oven, pour the caramel sauce evenly over it. Use a spatula to spread the caramel smoothly across the surface.
  5. Top with Chocolate and Nuts: Sprinkle the chocolate chunks and optional chopped nuts evenly over the caramel layer. If using sea salt, sprinkle it lightly on top to bring out the sweetness.
  6. Bake Again: Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, allowing the caramel to bubble and the toppings to set slightly.
  7. Add Melted Chocolate Chips: Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips over the hot caramel. Let them melt for a few minutes, then gently spread the melted chocolate to cover the surface evenly.
  8. Cool and Slice: Allow the bars to cool completely at room temperature, which helps the layers to set firmly. Once cooled, slice into squares for serving.

Notes

  • Use high-quality chocolate chunks and chips for the best flavor results.
  • Adding a pinch of sea salt or toasted nuts enhances the flavor with a salty crunch.
  • Chill the bars in the refrigerator before slicing to achieve neat, clean squares.
  • Store bars in an airtight container; they can be frozen for up to 2–3 months to maintain freshness.
