Ingredients
Scale
Filling
- 2½ cups chopped breaded chicken fingers
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ¾ cup chicken finger dipping sauce
Dough
- 2 (8-oz) cans refrigerated crescent rolls
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375ºF (190ºC) and line baking sheets with parchment paper to prevent sticking and for easy cleanup. Set aside.
- Prepare Chicken: If using frozen chicken tenders, cook them according to the package instructions until fully cooked. Let them cool slightly, then chop into small bite-sized pieces using a sharp knife.
- Make Filling: In a bowl, combine the chopped cooked chicken, shredded cheddar cheese, and chicken finger dipping sauce. Mix well to ensure the chicken pieces are evenly coated and cheesy.
- Prepare Crescent Dough: Unroll each can of refrigerated crescent rolls and press along the perforations to seal the dough into sheets. Cut each sheet into 8 equal squares, resulting in a total of 16 squares.
- Assemble Bites: Spoon the chicken mixture evenly onto the center of each dough square. Bring the four corners of each square up over the filling and pinch to seal securely, forming little bundles. Place each bundle on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them apart.
- Bake: Bake the crescent bites in the preheated oven for 18 to 20 minutes, or until the dough is puffed and golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Use freshly cooked chicken fingers for best flavor, or substitute with leftover cooked chicken if preferred.
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or hot sauce to the filling mixture.
- The chicken finger dipping sauce can be substituted with ranch or your favorite creamy sauce.
- Make sure to seal the dough edges tightly to prevent filling from leaking during baking.
- These bites are best served warm and are excellent with extra dipping sauce on the side.
