Description

Indulge in this elegant Cadbury Flake Mousse Tart, featuring a crisp digestive biscuit crust filled with a light and airy chocolate mousse made from creamy Cadbury Flake bars. Finished with delicate chocolate flakes and fresh berries, this dessert is perfect for chocolate lovers looking for a stunning yet simple treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Tart Shell

  • 1 ½ cups digestive biscuit crumbs (or graham cracker crumbs)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar

Mousse Filling

  • 4 Cadbury Flake chocolate bars (about 35g each)
  • 1 ½ cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp gelatin (optional, for extra firmness)

Decoration

  • 2 additional Cadbury Flake bars, broken into pieces
  • Fresh berries (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tart Shell: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine the digestive biscuit crumbs, melted butter, and granulated sugar until the mixture is evenly moistened. Press this mixture firmly and evenly into the base and sides of a tart pan to form the shell. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until the crust turns lightly golden. Remove from oven and allow it to cool completely before filling.
  2. Make the Mousse: Break the Cadbury Flake bars into pieces and place them in a microwave-safe bowl. Melt the chocolate by heating in 20-second intervals, stirring well between each, until smooth and fully melted. Let it cool slightly. In a separate chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream with vanilla extract and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. If using gelatin for extra firmness, dissolve it in a little warm water and mix it into the melted chocolate. Carefully fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture until smooth and fully combined, ensuring you maintain the airy texture.
  3. Assemble the Tart: Once the tart shell has fully cooled, pour the mousse mixture into the shell and spread it evenly with a spatula. Place the tart in the refrigerator and chill for at least 3 hours or until the mousse is set and firm to the touch.
  4. Decorate and Serve: Before serving, scatter broken pieces of Cadbury Flake bars over the top for a crunchy texture, and optionally garnish with fresh berries for a touch of color and freshness. Slice carefully and enjoy this delightful, creamy tart.

Notes

  • For a firmer mousse, adding gelatin is recommended but optional.
  • If digestive biscuits are unavailable, graham cracker crumbs make a suitable substitute.
  • The mousse texture is best when the heavy cream is whipped to stiff peaks.
  • Keep the tart chilled until just before serving to maintain mousse stability.
  • Fresh berries add a lovely tangy contrast but can be omitted if preferred.
