Description

Create a fun and colorful Blast Off Snack Board perfect for parties or family gatherings. This space-themed snack board features an assortment of fresh vegetables, fruits, cheeses, crackers, and dips arranged to resemble a rocketship blasting off into space, decorated with edible gold star sprinkles for a cosmic touch.

Ingredients

Scale

Vegetables & Fruits

  • 1 cup baby carrots
  • 1 cup cucumber slices
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes
  • 1 cup red and yellow bell pepper strips
  • 1 cup seedless grapes (red or green)
  • 12 blueberries (planets)

Cheese & Dairy

  • 1 cup cheddar cheese cubes
  • 1 cup mozzarella balls (bocconcini)
  • 6 string cheese sticks (rocket boosters)

Dips

  • 1 cup hummus
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt ranch dip

Snacks

  • 1 cup whole grain crackers
  • 1 cup pretzel sticks
  • ½ cup popcorn

Garnishes

  • Edible gold star sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Arrange base: Place the whole grain crackers and pretzel sticks on a large platter, shaping them to outline a rocketship shape as the base of your snack board.
  2. Form spaceship body: Use the cheddar cheese cubes and mozzarella balls to create the main body of the rocketship, positioning the mozzarella balls as windows.
  3. Add rocket flames: Position the baby carrots and red and yellow bell pepper strips at the base of the rocketship to simulate flames launching from the rocket.
  4. Scatter planets and asteroids: Distribute the seedless grapes, cherry tomatoes, and blueberries around the board to represent planets and asteroids in space.
  5. Place rocket boosters: Line the string cheese sticks along the sides of the rocketship to mimic rocket boosters.
  6. Set dips for serving: Fill small bowls with hummus and Greek yogurt ranch dip and place them near the vegetables for easy dipping.
  7. Add meteor showers: Scatter clusters of popcorn over the board to resemble stars or meteors in the cosmos.
  8. Decorate with stars: Lightly sprinkle edible gold star sprinkles over the entire board for a cosmic and festive decoration, if desired.
  9. Serve and enjoy: Present the fully assembled snack board immediately and invite guests to create their own space-themed bites.

Notes

  • Use a large, flat platter or wooden board to have ample space for all the ingredients and decorations.
  • Feel free to substitute vegetables or cheeses based on preference or dietary needs.
  • The edible gold star sprinkles add a nice decorative touch but are optional.
  • This snack board is best enjoyed fresh; serve immediately after assembling for the best texture and flavor.
  • Perfect for kids’ parties or space-themed events to make snacking fun and interactive.
