Description

Bang Bang Salmon is a quick and flavorful baked salmon dish featuring a creamy, spicy sauce made from mayonnaise, sriracha, honey, and lime juice. This 25-minute recipe yields tender, perfectly cooked salmon fillets glazed with a zesty bang bang sauce, ideal for a healthy weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Salmon

  • 4 fresh salmon fillets (6 ounces each)

Sauce

  • ½ cup mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt for a lighter option)
  • 3 tablespoons sriracha sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) and allow it to fully heat while you prepare the salmon and sauce.
  2. Make the sauce: In a medium bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sriracha sauce, honey, and lime juice until the mixture is smooth and well combined, creating the signature bang bang sauce.
  3. Prepare the salmon: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Place the salmon fillets evenly spaced on the sheet. Generously coat each fillet with half of the bang bang sauce, spreading it evenly over the surface.
  4. Bake the salmon: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the salmon for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. The internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C) for safe consumption.
  5. Optional broil: For extra caramelization and a slightly crispy top, switch your oven to the broil setting and broil the salmon for 2 to 3 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
  6. Serve: Remove the salmon from the oven and drizzle the remaining half of the bang bang sauce over the fillets before serving. Pair with your choice of sides and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can substitute mayonnaise with Greek yogurt to reduce fat and calories while maintaining creaminess.
  • Adjust sriracha to your spice preference—use less for milder heat or more for extra kick.
  • Make sure not to overcook the salmon to keep it moist and tender.
  • If you don’t have lime juice, you can use lemon juice as an alternative.
