Scale
Ingredients
- 2 slices of bread (white, whole wheat, sourdough, etc.)
- 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
- 2–3 slices of cheese (cheddar, American, or your choice)
Instructions
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s hot and ready for cooking the sandwich evenly.
- Butter the Bread: Spread the softened butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread; this will help achieve a crispy, golden crust.
- Assemble the Sandwich: Place the cheese slices between the unbuttered sides of the bread so the buttered sides face outwards for grilling.
- Place in Air Fryer: Put the assembled sandwich into the air fryer basket, optionally using a parchment liner to prevent sticking.
- Cook the Sandwich: Air fry the sandwich for 4-5 minutes, then carefully flip it and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Cool and Serve: Remove the sandwich and let it cool for 1-2 minutes before slicing and serving to enjoy the perfect grilled cheese experience.
Notes
- You can customize the cheese type to your preference, such as mozzarella, Swiss, or a blend.
- Using a parchment liner in the air fryer can help prevent any cheese drips from sticking and make cleanup easier.
- For extra flavor, add tomato slices or cooked bacon inside the sandwich before air frying.
- Adjust air frying times slightly depending on your air fryer model and bread thickness.
- Butter can be substituted with margarine or a plant-based spread for dietary preferences.
