Description

This Air Fryer Chicken Patties recipe offers a quick and healthy way to enjoy tender, flavorful chicken patties with minimal oil and fuss. Perfect for a fast lunch or dinner, these patties are seasoned with garlic, onion, paprika, and black pepper, then crisped to perfection using the air fryer for a crispy exterior and juicy interior.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken Patty Mixture

  • 1 pound ground chicken (450g)
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup breadcrumbs (30g)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

For Cooking

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (plus olive oil spray for air fryer basket)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and black pepper. Mix all ingredients thoroughly until well combined, ensuring even seasoning throughout the mixture.
  2. Form patties: Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a round patty approximately ½-inch thick, weighing about 133 grams each for uniform cooking.
  3. Prepare air fryer: Spray the basket of the air fryer lightly with olive oil spray to prevent sticking. Arrange the patties in a single layer inside the basket, making sure they touch slightly but don’t overlap. Brush the tops of the patties with olive oil to promote browning.
  4. Cook patties: Set the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and cook the patties for 7 minutes. Then, carefully flip each patty and cook for an additional 3 to 5 minutes. Check that the internal temperature reaches at least 165°F (74°C) to ensure they are fully cooked and safe to eat.

Notes

  • Make sure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket to allow even air circulation for crisp cooking.
  • Use a food thermometer to check the internal temperature for safe and perfect cooking.
  • Customize seasonings to your preference by adding herbs like parsley or cayenne for added flavor.
  • These patties can be served in buns as chicken burgers or alongside your favorite salads and sides.
  • Leftover patties can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 1 month.
